Get ready to see the most light, elegant, and airy in home maternity session in Orlando! Natasha’s home was a dream for a photographer – it was almost all white, mixed with shades of cream and grey. This allows for light to flood in from the the windows, and bounce off of the walls and ceiling in the most beautiful and bright way. This bright light and these soft colors also allow your eye to focus more on the subject; there are hardly any distractions around Natasha that take away your attention. Your eye goes directly to her! And her cute dog of course :) I love the cameo by Natasha’s sweet german shepherd.
Natasha is so beautiful; her thick dark hair, heavy lashes, and gorgeous skin were so fun to capture. More importantly, Natasha was such a kind and sweet client. When we took these pictures, she was on bed rest and having to be very patient while waiting for her son to arrive. She was so excited to mix up one of her days and take pictures to celebrate the life growing inside of her! We also enjoyed some time outside; the white curtains hanging from her porch were the perfect prop to play with to create pictures with movement. They flowed around Natasha in the most effortless and airy way!
If you want your maternity session to be as light and airy as Natasha’s, I have a couple of suggestions. First, wear something light, both in color and fabric. Light fabric adds movement to a picture, and is also something for the subject to play with. Her dress was the perfect choice for this shoot. Second, clear out the clutter. Remove the unnecessary knick-knacks from bedside tables, chairs, and floor. We want to keep the shot simple if you want a light and airy feel. Lastly, let’s shoot in a room with lots of windows or doors, and let the light flood in. I open blinds, curtains, doors, etc. to let that soft light reach my subject. This light is the most flattering!
